The Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups and the Tourism Commission of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government are jointly organizing the Hong Kong Young Ambassador Scheme 2005. The aim of the Scheme is to encourage and train young people to be Ambassadors for Hong Kong, in order to:

Participants will join a three-week (16 July ~ 5 August 2005) intensive training programme designed to help them to acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to promote Hong Kong. The training programme includes a 3-day-2-night training camp, visits to different sectors in Hong Kong, introductory tours to historical and heritage sites of Hong Kong, talks by professionals and academics on various aspects of Hong Kong and a Group Project Competition.
HKYAs, after the satisfactory completion of the training programme, are required to undergo a Service Programme that involves:
Local Service Programme
- Stationing at various tourist spots and facilities to introduce Hong Kong to visitors
- Participating in local tourism promotional activities
- Spreading the message of a "hospitable culture" to the community
and / or
Overseas Promotional Activities
- Introducing Hong Kong to foreigners
- Organizing exhibitions and activities to promote Hong Kong
The Scheme is open for students aged 16 or over who are:
- studying in local school or university OR
- about to study, or currently studying, abroad in high school or university
